Web Statistics & Other General Information Pertaining To The World Wide Web

Domain addresses currently are points contained within the World Wide Web, and ideally capable of being referenced, utilized, and accessed. These unique components are essential and the most valuable commodities/properties that individuals and corporations can and are investing in when it comes to the web. To date many domain registrars (i.e. www.TheEngineThatCan.com) offer the ability to search for and buy domains, offer an array of products associated with domains; but do not offer, and in many ways are incapable of offering significant supplementary information to assist individuals and corporations in making wise/informed decisions.

As of now, a “TD Ameritrade” (investing and research firm) or Bloomberg Network with a “stock-ticker” doesn’t exist for the TLD market. Researching these unique properties on a case specific and/or general basis is difficult; even for technological/computer experts. Flaws, difficulties, and inconsistencies in these methods, as well as the ability to implement methods effectively and synthesize all data collected exist. The reason why one can’t turn on MSNBC, the BBC, or CNN and watch logical, neat, and color coordinated scrolling bars on the bottom of the screen with real time updates has an extremely complex answer.

What is the World Wide Web? Different people define it differently; there is no uniform definition. Is the World Wide Web and the Internet the same thing? Some will argue yes, some will argue no. The questions: what is the Internet; what was the Internet; and where is the Internet going, all can, and do have different and multiple answers. The web isn’t clearly defined and understood mainly because it cannot be defined in a traditional or quantifiable sense; many key aspects still cannot be calculated; and the calculated equations bear little if any significant weight. Individuals, corporations, and controlling/overseeing technological conglomerates and bodies; with information, technology, structure, rules, and content, breathe life into this beast called the “World Wide Web.”

It is individual’s/corporation’s job to try to find what is believed to be credible information, and put that information together in an intelligible and beneficial way. Individuals and corporations must do the dirty work and continually strive to educate and inform themselves through traditional, technological, and communicatory measures. If anything is possible on the web, why, up until this point, have individuals and corporations hit plateaus; never capable of going beyond particular points in their web understanding, actual pages, and overall knowledge not of what the technologies are? Why aren’t individuals and corporations truly aware at how technologies are really being used, and could be used, in an effort to specifically assist them? Billions and billions of quote on quote pages of content/information exist, and yet we keep finding, and only know of the same exact and same sorts of content/information.

Since the web’s conception consumers of all kind have been thrown into an unfamiliar territory, and been given impressive technical jargon, little information, a sense of false hope, incorrect information, and few if any frames of reference. We have been told the Internet exists, is infinite, and information can be freely transmitted/shared. We have been told this technological intangible would facilitate progress. Technological aspects such as hardware, software, and the conglomerates rationing out “advances” have been consciously and unconsciously working against each other in an effort to slow the overall progress and effectiveness of the Internet, maximizing their earnings and growth. The need to deliver critical general and specific information is known, but the desire and true “know-how” (because of so many conflicting elements and a desire to retain control) is lacking. The parameters and necessary criteria are largely unknown and disputed, and half-baked answers along with occasional chaos have become expected and acceptable.

Information and access to information is power. You are a child, and know how to put on sneakers. You don’t know how to tie your laces, but every time you want to put on your shoes, or your laces come undone, or you want to tighten them up, you go to see your mother. Your mother will gladly do it for you, and is always available. She intentionally never tells you how to tie you laces because (1) you didn’t ask, or ask in a direct/clear enough fashion, and/or (2) it is her way of knowing when you are going outside, and have a pretty good idea as to what you will be doing (i.e. “Make them really tight, I’m going to the park to play basketball”).

Now, let’s say you ask her how to tie your laces and (1) she cannot teach you in a manner you can understand, or (2) she refuses to teach you because she doesn’t want to relinquish her control. Do you stop there? What happens if you (3) fail to observe/understand the repetitive act of your mother tying your laces, or (4) you failed to try to create the knot through trial and error, or (5) you failed to deconstruct the knot and try to put it back together, or (6) you picked up a book and couldn’t comprehend the text and illustrations outlining the steps? You don’t stop there either. You might not have had to go through all that trouble if you just asked another knowledgeable person; an individual you trusted and who truly had your best interests at hand with no selfish/limiting motives. You would ask a person who understands and remembers what it is like to be in a pinch, and not be capable of doing something they have become dependant upon and need to do. You would ask an individual who understood both your mother’s and your perspective, but realized that in the end your mother’s refusal or ability to teach you to tie your sneakers would severely limit your growth.

Yes, no one centralized location with credible/up-to-date information, news, and statistics regarding TLD’s and the culture/climate of individual web markets exists. The need for this information exists, and almost all of the “people in the know” fear relinquishing “control” and rendering themselves obsolete in performing certain tasks. The “people in the know,” cannot convey this information in a universal formula, and how much they truly “know” is questionable. Even if they could present formulas regular individuals and corporations could utilize, without “understanding” and a sense of the big picture, these formulas are nothing more than a bunch bells and whistles. What is a bunch of numbers that are subject to interpretation, can be misunderstood, and perhaps cannot be interpreted in any “true” sense.

No one (until now) is working towards making this information easily and readily accessible. It is and will continue to be “our” job to know and understand how to find information, how to interpret what we are looking at, and how to put everything together. Statistics and information that is available is easily misunderstood, somewhat misleading, and difficult to find unless one really knows what they are doing, and what information they need to find/are looking for. In the world of domain properties, numbers mean very little without understanding, context, and additional/supplementary numerical information that without question can be recorded (i.e. consecutive years of ownership, consecutive years recognized by specific search engines, how many unique hits/total hits, average time spent on specific components of pages, demographical/geographical numbers, revenue generated, etc.)

Business Solutions TV is a unique “.tv” channel in a state of infancy.  Rather than allow this premium .tv domain channel to remain unused and “available,” U4H, Inc. provides business solutions that primarily talk about and illustrate the benefits of Internet Television Broadcasting Channels.

If a corporation is going to continue to grow in today's world, it must do primarily two things. One is to understand our customers and the markets we are trying to provide to.  The second thing a corporation must do is have a web presence that is an accurate and true extension of that entity. Corporations must understand where technology is going and harness the merger of Internet and Television. A corporations understanding of every aspect of its products and/or services offered is not enough.
